For decades, they have specialised in the design of magnet systems. For the EPICON 2, they decided to challenge everyhthing they knew to take magnet system design further than ever before. The answer is a Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC) material that offers exactly the right combination of physical properties – exceptionally high magnetic conductivity and extremely low electrical conductivity. The result is a dramatic reduction in distortion caused by mechanical loss in the magnet system.

The EPICON 2's real wood veneer cabinet takes craftsmanship to exceptional heights. With 10 layers of lacquer, hand-polished between each application, it's as durable as it is beautiful. The cabinet also contributes to the sonic performance. Serving as an acoustically tuned ‘spring’ for the drivers, the rigid construction eliminates unwanted resonance, while the curved baffle practically eliminates standing waves.
