RUBICON 6 BE

Celebrating Black Friday, they introduce the limited all-black RUBICON 6 BLACK EDITION. It will only be available in Satin Black with black wood fiber cones - topped off with a golden touch on the logo and signature plate. Performance-wise, the BLACK EDITION has been upgraded with a new crossover design along with Mundorf capacitors and internal DALI silver cable wiring.

With the new Dali RUBICON 6 Black Edition, Dali Speaker A/S presents a special model of the Dali RUBICON 6 floorstanding loudspeaker system, which is presented completely in black, i.e. not only with a black body, but also with a black baffle and – and this is a striking feature – even with black cones of the drivers. The special model, which is only available in 444 pairs worldwide, is thus to appear a little more elegant. In addition, the developers also worked hard on the crossover and internal wiring, so that the special model Dali RUBICON 6 Black Edition also differs from the serial model from a technical point of view.

PRODUCT DETAILS

The RUBICON 6 BLACK EDITION has been tweaked for even better performance. A new crossover design has been added along with Mundorf capacitors and internal DALI silver cable wiring in order to build on the already stellar performance that defines the RUBICON series.

The RUBICON 6 BE features two 6½ inch woofers - each using its own bass port - gold-plated bi-wiring terminals and our innovative ribbon/soft dome hybrid tweeter module, which also was used in the EPICON series.

The two woofers work together to move the air, delivering more powerful bass and pumping out audio excellence that fills the entire room. The driver construction of the RUBICON 6 BE makes it even more powerful than its smaller sibling with an enhanced and controlled performance.

SMC

With the introduction of the SMC based "Linear Drive System", they have broken new ground in the loudspeaker industry. Utilizing the technologies behind the SMC in the RUBICON 6 BE, they aim to create an extremely low distortion and maximize the level of details, even at low volume. With the drivers manufactured in-house at their Danish factory, and featuring the latest in magnet motor technology, the RUBICON series sets new standards for audio quality for Hi-Fi lovers around the world.

The RUBICON 6 BE draws upon the heritage from the SMC based ‘Linear Drive System, which was introduced with the EPICON series. With the use of the technology from the SMC drivers, they have taken a step closer to remove a very large part of the unwanted distortion. The bass drivers are optimized for long excursion, and the midrange driver for a large useful frequency range insuring that the roll-off is handled in the crossover and not in the driver. All this ensures that the benefit from SMC can be enjoyed by even more Hi-Fi lovers around the world.

HYBRID TWEETER

The RUBICON 6 BE has inherited the hybrid tweeter from the RUBICON 6. The speaker makes use of both the soft dome tweeter working alone, and the hybrid tweeter configuration an amazing rendering of the high frequencies. The voice coil used in the RUBICON 6 BE is designed to be very light and agile in order to achieve a broader bandwidth. This lighter voice coil is placed inside a powerful ferrite magnet that keeps a tight control of its movements.

The ribbon tweeter is the master of wide dispersion and combining it with the soft dome, the tweeter module starts working as low as 2.5 KHz. This extreme bandwidth combined with the ultra wide dispersion is an important part of the DALI sound philosophy.

WOOFER

The distinctive black-coloured wood fiber cones used in the RUBICON 6 BE draw upon the heritage from the EPICON technologies, and has a light, rigid and randomly uneven structure. This lower the complexity of the central part of the motor, ensures even piston like movements, reduces the possibility of surface resonance greatly and creates an extremely low distortion within the RUBICON 6 BE.

The soft low-loss rubber surround is designed and bespoke specifically for the RUBICON series, and all of the components are situated in an aluminum chassis designed for maximum airflow around the cone and magnet system.
